Yes. Every kit includes a sealed 30 mL multi-dose vial of Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, USP, manufactured by Hospira, a Pfizer company. We never substitute brands — if it isn't genuine Hospira, it doesn't go in the box.
Sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, a preservative that allows repeated withdrawals from the same multi-dose vial. It is used to dilute or dissolve products for injection according to their labeling.
Plain sterile water for injection contains no preservative, so it is intended for single use. Bacteriostatic water's preservative is what makes a multi-dose vial practical.
Hospira's labeling advises that an opened vial of bacteriostatic water should be discarded after 28 days.
